UnitechHR HR Department

Built the HR department side of a capstone system, focused on dashboard-style workflows, department access, and operational screens for HR users.

Problem

The capstone system needed a dedicated HR department interface rather than a generic admin screen. HR users need a focused workspace for department-level tasks, clear navigation, and dashboard-style access to operational information.

Solution

I worked on the deployed HR department surface for UnitechHR, shaping the frontend around department workflows and an internal-tool feel. The focus was to make HR actions easier to locate, keep dashboard screens scannable, and package the department module as a deployable web app.

What I Owned

  • Built frontend screens for the HR department module.
  • Structured the interface around dashboard-style navigation and department workflows.
  • Prepared the deployment-ready frontend for Vercel.
  • Coordinated the module as part of a broader capstone system.

Tech

  • React for the department application shell and interactive screens.
  • Tailwind CSS for responsive internal-tool layouts.
  • Vercel for deploying the HR department frontend.

Key Decisions

  • Treated the HR department as its own focused workspace so users are not overloaded by unrelated system areas.
  • Used dashboard-style layout patterns because HR workflows are task-heavy and benefit from predictable navigation.
  • Kept the deployed frontend modular so it can sit alongside other department surfaces in the capstone system.
  • Prioritized clarity and completion over decorative UI, which fits internal operational software better.

Tradeoffs

  • I kept the public case study conservative because the deployed app does not expose every implementation detail from the capstone system.
  • The portfolio entry focuses on the HR department surface rather than claiming ownership of the entire UnitechHR platform.

Outcome

  • Delivered a deployed capstone module representing HR department workflows.
  • Demonstrated team-based product work and internal-system UI thinking.
  • Added a real-world academic project to the portfolio alongside solo portfolio and assessment builds.
